Mediations

Academic Mediation Centre

The Academic Mediation Centre operates within the Academic Network for Safety and Equality (ASBiR). We specialise in conducting mediation and supporting members of the academic community in resolving conflicts in a professional, confidential, and impartial manner.

Our mission is to create a safe space for dialogue, mutual understanding, and the development of relationships based on respect.

We provide mediation in matters related to the functioning of higher education institutions, conflicts within academic communities, as well as cases arising in disciplinary and workplace bullying (mobbing) proceedings.

Our mediation services provide a confidential, impartial, and constructive way of resolving conflicts, helping parties reach mutually satisfactory solutions in a less formal and more efficient manner. We draw on extensive experience in the higher education sector and understand the unique challenges faced by academic communities.

We support universities, faculties, institutes, and other higher education organisations in addressing organisational and institutional disputes. Our services are available to academic and administrative staff, university leaders, students, and doctoral candidates. We assist in resolving conflicts related to workplace relationships, communication, teamwork, supervision, and other aspects of academic life.

Mediations are conducted by qualified mediators drawn from both academic and administrative staff. They possess the necessary expertise and extensive experience in working with conflicts within the higher education sector.

In addition to the mediators listed within our Centre, when necessary we are also able to recommend mediators from partner mediation centres with which we cooperate. Through these partnerships, we exchange experience, expertise, and good practices in the field of mediation.
