Our aim is to look for ways to prevent conflicts and misunderstandings through recommending mediation procedures and standards, i.e. to support conflict management. Through education and dialogue, we aspire to make mediation a tool that is widely known and applied across Academia. Furthermore, we wish to ensure that the mediation process is safe and comfortable for those involved.
Transgender and Gender-Diverse Persons’ Rights Section
Chairperson: Magdalena Miksa, University of Warsaw
The primary aim of the Section is to develop solutions to facilitate life at university for transgender and non-binary people who do not wish to use their current ID data. Transgender persons face various types of stress and discrimination due to the fact that they cannot live according to their gender identity. Through the exchange of experiences of those involved in supporting trans people in Polish HEIs, we want to develop good practices and recommendations to be applied in the academic environment. Our aim is to identify the major issues faced by transgender people in universities and to look for solutions to prevent bias and stigmatisation.

Chairperson: Ewelina Ciaputa, Jagiellonian University
The Equality Policies Section is to promote the idea of gender equality and inclusivity in Academia by networking, initiating debate, and delivering practical tools in the implementation and evaluation of inclusive equality policies, including gender equality plans (GEPs). The Section’s activities include the organisation of panels at conferences related to equality policies and the hosting of seminars and workshops for institutions and individuals working in this field. In addition, the Section has set itself the goal of drafting recommendations for HEIs on the development and implementation of inclusive equality policies and promoting projects that support their implementation.
